CASE STUDY: PONY XPRESS PRINTING
Pony Xpress Printing is a young screen printing company in Dallas that is quickly becoming one of the leaders in the decorated apparel industry. The company’s dedication to high-end screenprinting, its excellent customer service, and incomparable turn-around times make them a major player in the printing world, scoring them contracts with Dallas Stars to Adidas for the Super Bowl, Cowboy Militia to Ed Hardy and Harley-Davidson to various private clothing lines started by professional athletes and such. They needed coverage in trades as well as business and general consumer press to raise visibility of their organization and attract potential investors and other partners.
The Gentry Agency launched a public relations campaign in 2009 that is still ongoing, centered on media relations, with the goal of making the most of a small budget and affecting change for the organization. The Gentry Agency has dozens of multiple media hits for Pony Xpress Printing, including:
- Features in important trade publications: Impressions Magazine, Print Solutions Magazine, Wearables Magazine, Embroidery Business Insights, Stitches, and more.
- Business features in Collin County Business Press and an impactful Cheryl Hall story in The Dallas Morning News
- Consumer features in Lakewood/Lake Highlands Advocate, CW 33, DFWReporting.com, Grapevine/Colleyville paper, SMU’s Daily Campus and more
All told, ad value equivalency (AVE) for all stories have totaled more than $1 million, with costs to the client significantly less, a mere fraction of the total AVE gained. Additionally, the hundreds of thousands of eyeballs these stories produced has significantly raised the company’s visibility and attracted a large, high-profile investor that purchased the company, and significant growth that caused the company to need to move out of their old location and into a much larger facility.
